Introduction
The central government amended the 73rd constitution so that the gram panchayats became self-reliant and empowered to run their affairs like an autonomous organization. As a result, the gram panchayats have gained constitutional status and the movement of the gram panchayats has started in the direction of providing social justice to the people of the village and their economic development. Various schemes are being implemented by the central government for the overall development of the country. Zilla Parishad Committees and Gram Panchayats were given powers by decentralizing the power so that even the grassroots people get the benefit of the development scheme and their upliftment/progress. The government implements various schemes with the aim of improving the lives of poor people by benefiting them in real sense. It is the expectation of the government to raise the standard of living of the rural people by taking advantage of various government schemes. It is very important to reach the public about all such schemes is important. Pune district is divided into 08 talukas and a total OF Gram Panchayats are functioning. The total population of the functioning Gram Panchayat is 1657576 out of which the number of Scheduled Castes is 265184 and Scheduled Tribes is 36039. If we consider the area of rural areas, 7569 sq. km is occupied by Various Government (Central Government, State Government) schemes presented to the people at the grass root level in rural areas are implemented through Gram Panchayat Division, Zilla Parishad.
