Introduction
Since water and sanitation are interrelated and their implementation is coordinated, the Central Government has created the District Water and Sanitation Mission Cell in 2012. All the Central and State sponsored programs are being implemented through this department as follows.
Swachh Bharat Mission -Grameen (SBM): Phase II (2019-2025)-
The foundation stone of the Rural Sanitation Programme was laid by the Central Government with the noble aim of increasing the status and scope of sanitation in the rural areas of the country through public participation. The Central Rural Sanitation Programme (CRSP) from 1990 to 2000-01, the Total Sanitation Campaign from 2001 to 2010, the Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan from 2012 to 2014 and the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) launched by the auspicious hands of the Hon’ble Prime Minister from 02 October 2014, after obtaining SBM (G) and ODF status, SBM-G Phase II has been started with the aim of achieving total sanitation i.e ODF Plus status.
Jal Jeevan Mission – Har Ghar Jal(Only Soft Activity)
Jal Jeevan Mission is an ambitious project launched since 2019 through the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India. This includes the main village tap water supply scheme, functional tap connections to families, and extensive publicity, publicity and capacity building training is organized at various levels through the department to ensure public participation and transparency in the said initiative.
Water quality monitoring and surveillance (WQMS)
Under the Water quality monitoring and surveillance (WQMS), in order to provide quality drinking water to the citizens of the rural areas of the district, biological and chemical testing of the water in the drinking water sources is being carried out through Taluka Laboratories and Field Testing Kits (FTK) before and after monsoon.

more effectively and reach it to all rural families. Water Supply and Sanitation Department Government Decision No. SGAGRA2022/PR.KR.33/PAPU-16 dated 07.10.2022 Guidelines from the government regarding the implementation of the
Sant GadgeBaba Gram Swachhata Abhiyan
in the year 2022-23 and thereafter. They have come to be released.
