Tourist places and temples
Jalna district is famous for the temple. Temple of Ganapati at Bhokardan , Anwa Taluka. The temple of Maheshwara at Bhokardan and the temple of Matsodari Devi at Ambad as well as Ner Taluka. The temple of Vateshwar in Jalna, the temple of Narasimha at Partur, the temple of Bhairavnath in Jalna city, the Ganapati temple, the Ram temple, the Mahaanubhav and the Jain temple are also famous. There is also a statue of Janardan Mama in the center of Jalna city and Nalanda Buddha Vihar at Nagewadi is famous.
- Samarth Ramdas Swami: Samarth Ramdas Swami was born at Jambsamarth in Ghansawangi taluka of Jalna district. He has written the books Mana’s Shloka and Dasabodha. He taught people about patriotism
- Anandi Swami:- Here there became a great saint named Anandi Swami, he treated everyone equally. Helping the poor, his samadhi is located in Jalna.
- Jan Ali and Babaali Shah:- Jan Ali and Babaali Shah were also saints born in this district. They have dargahs in Jalna city. And there is urus every year.
- Rajur:- There is a temple of Ganapati at Rajur in Bhokardan taluka and a large number of devotees from all over the country visit.
Brief and detailed information of Jalna Zilla Parishad
- The Balwantrao Mehta Committee (1958) has recommended a three-tier panchayat raj system to involve rural people in rural development. In pursuance of this, the Government of Maharashtra On May 1, 1962, the Maharashtra Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti Act, 1961 was passed and a three-tier panchayat raj was established in the form of panchayat samiti at the zilla parishad group level at the district level and gram panchayat at the village level. Thus, The State of Maharashtra became the ninth state in the country to adopt the Panchayat Raj system.
- Zilla Parishad (commonly known as G.P.) is a district-level local government body in India. Generally, the zilla parishad office is located at the district headquarters.
- Jalna Zilla Parishad was formed on May 1 And at present, jalna zilla parishad consists of eight panchayat samitis namely Jalna, Badnapur, Ambad Ghansangavi, Bhokardan, Jafrabad, Partur and Mantha. At the time of the creation of the district, four panchayat samitis of Jalna, Ambad, Bhokardan and Jafrabad in old Aurangabad district and Partur committees of Parbhani district were included in the Jalna District Council.
- As per census 2011, Jalna district has a population of 58 lakh. There are a total of 778 gram panchayats in the district under which there are a total of 972 villages. Jalna Zilla Parishad headquarters is located on Ambad Road.
